IDFC2019 had site-visits both in Tokyo and Yangon according to these three sub-themes; "Education", "Environment" and "Social Inclusion". Rather than technical and policy discussion, participants discussed what we as youths of countries can do for these social issues. In this page, you can see the article from each sub-theme based on site-visits in Tokyo and Yangon.

​Education

Education is the most important element in terms of human resource. Therefore, the situation of education varies according to countries. Myanmar is rapidly changing its way nowadays. In addition to government education system, there emerges a lot of new efforts outside school system to tackle many educational issues. In Japan, although it seems education system is quite stable, there are many issues at behind. In IDFC2019, we are going to grasp the present situation in both countries and visit places where such new efforts are being pursued. Through site-visit, we are going to consider what is really important in future education in Myanmar and Japan. 

Environment

There are many types of environmental issues such as deforestation, industrial pollution, mass consumption and so on. Each country has it's own environmental issues. Although Japan and Myanmar have the same goal of sustainability in the field of environment, they have different environmental issues to solve. Is Myanmar going to trace the same history to Japan as the string of environmental issues had begun since Meiji Restoration? In IDFC2019, we are going to focus on environmental issues of city and our daily lives. We need to know what is actually happening in Myanmar where there is huge population growth in urban area and in Japan which tries hard to create recycling society.

​Social Inclusion

Social inclusion is not only about the employment but also about creating the comfortable environment where each one of us can feel the existence of ourselves. Although Myanmar and Japan have different features in societies, there always exists people who are marginalized whether consciously or unconsciously. In Japan, social inclusion is gaining its importance where Japan needs to keep sustainability of its depopulating society and to include various types of people. In Myanmar, there might be some people who have been unseen for a long time until now. In IDFC2019, we are going to see numerous ways of social inclusion for different people.
