A Newspaper for kids in Japan

We, a sub-theme of education of IDFC2019, went to Ippommatsu Elementary school near Tokyo in Japan. The most surprising thing is that the school has several clubs such as cooking club, music club, Science club and table-tennis club unlike Myanmar elementary schools. The students of Grade 3 were seen observing the club activities of their seniors as the students starting from Grade 4 can choose and join the club activities. This is a very good practise for students to know their own rights as well as to make their own choices in their lives.

The bond among the classroom teacher and all the students are very family-like. The classrooms are created in the way that students can play, sit and move around easily so that various activities can be run in the classrooms.

The picture is a Japanese newspaper for kids. The news are adapted to simple language and easy word usages accompanied with a lot of pictures so that the kids can understand all the news and get easily interested in the news. This is such a new and amazing idea that I believe we should start such practise in Myanmar. As a small step, we can start explaining and telling the news in our regular daily Myanmar newspapers to our brothers, sisters, nephews or nieces using pictures and simple and easy words.

Are you ready to make a new value/experience for the kids around you?
